Brown County Tolkien Society

The Brown County Tolkien Society was established in 2005 to celebrate and encourage interest in the life and works of J. R. R. Tolkien.

March 25th is Tolkien Reading Day.  This Library event includes dramatic readings and poetry, skits, music, and games.   Bring your favorite passages to read or share your own writings inspired by the creator of Middle-earth. Costumes are welcome.  Tolkien Reading Day was set aside by the International Tolkien Society as a day to encourage interest in the late Oxford professor, J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.

If you are interested in joining the society or would like to be informed about upcoming BCTS events, you may send inquiries to
