Art of the Library

The next time you come to the main branch of the library be sure to look at the beautiful fall landscape located in the recessed area behind the front desk. This painting is by Lillian Dunnigan (1921 – 2010), an Illinois native who moved to Brown Co. in 1958 and maintained an art studio above the Village Green for many years. A former student of the Chicago Professional School of Art, she began her career as a commercial artist and later expanded to landscapes. Like so many others, Lillian shared her time and talents by giving lessons and mentoring young people interested in art. Please take a moment to appreciate her┬álovely contribution the the library’s art collection.
