Share a Special Christmas Story

Want to share a special Christmas story with your 8-10 year old child and/or grandchild?  Read THE HOUSE WITHOUT A CHRISTMAS TREE by Gail Rock or THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER by Barbara Robinson.

THE HOUSE WITHOUT A CHRISTMAS TREE is about “10 year old Addie Mills who feels cheated, since year after year her father hasn’t let her have a Christmas tree.  What’s worse, he refuses to give her a reason.  Luckily Addie has her grandmother’s support and friendship, but even Grandma can’t get Addie’s father to change his mind.  Then, to her surprise, Addie finds a way to make her dream come true.”

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER “features the Herdmans, the terror of their town.  When Imogene, Ralph, and Gladys muscle in on Sunday School and demand the leading roles in the Christmas pageant, they get their way because the other kids don’t dare challenge them.  Chaos results, as the Herdmans act out their unique version of what happened so long ago in Bethlehem.  And surprise – everyone agrees it was the best Christmas pageant ever.”

Our library has both books and, also, the DVDs!
