Have you ever visited our library hoping to check out a certain book you have been wanting to read, searched for it on the computer in our card catalog, happily find that is shows “available”, but when you go to the shelf, where it is supposed to be, it’s not there? Then you go to the front desk and ask a staff member for assistance, but we are not able to locate it either. Frustrating, right?
This is a “lost” book.
Of course, there can be many factors as to why a book is “lost”, but misshelving is a common occurrence. One way that you, as our patron, can help is to place any adult books you decide not to check out in our RED CART by the Adult Non-Fiction section and any children’s books to the GREEN CART by the Children’s section. You can also return them to a staff member at the front desk.
Happy Reading!!
