If you encounter loose pages in a library book and don’t know what to do, here are a few tips for you.
- Try to keep the pages with the book. Put a rubber band around the book when you return it (or a pretty ribbon if you are so inclined.)
- Do not attempt to tape any of the pages. Your kind of tape may yellow later and it just makes it harder for us to make proper repairs.
- Do not try to glue the book together. We have special products to repair books and are quite used to doing it.
- Leave a note on the book, or tell someone at the desk about the loose pages, so we can pull the item from circulation until it is repaired. If you need it back, we can often do a quick repair and send it out with you (glue may need to set up overnight.)
